Background:

Sawyer was born in London, England on December 16th, 1874 to Axel Brenon Beaker and Britt Harriet Wood. Both of his parents worked as Aurors and engrained him with a strong sense of justice and a value of truth and knowledge. Growing up, Sawyer learned all he could, practicing with his mother’s wand and traveling to libraries and museums to find the answers to his many questions. By the time he was 11 years old he was far ahead of other magical children his age in terms of his education. He and his parents were ecstatic when his acceptance letter came from Hogwarts, and it was no surprise to anyone when he was sorted into Ravenclaw.

Personality:

ESTJ-A 6w5. Sawyer is a solemn, polite boy who values knowledge over almost everything else. He’s very determined, kind, patient, and reliable – the sort that always gets his homework done on time and will then take the time to help others with their own. Loyal to and defensive of those he loves, he will never hesitate to stand up for anyone accused falsely. Sawyer does have a tendency to be a bit too firm in his convictions, and has a dislike for more novel ideas. He’s been known to debate Professor Binns a number of times in his History of Magic class on the accuracy of the professor’s teachings. His core desire is to know what the honest truth is about any and every subject, and can get very frustrated when he can find no answers.

Appearance:

Sawyer is fairly tall (6’) with pale skin, brown hair, and blue eyes with brown rings around the pupils. He generally has a serious resting face, and already has small lines developing from furrowing his eyebrows in concentration.

Additional info:

His patronus is an osprey.

Sawyer adores ballroom dancing. He’s quite good at it, too. He’s taken a couple of classes throughout the years and has gone to many festivals around the world, enabling him to see a wide range of types and styles. When he dances he’s very polite and maintains proper form at all times, and his past experience makes him an excellent lead.

Growing up, Sawyer was instilled with very high manners by his father. He’s always holding doors open for others, taking his hat off indoors, offering his arm on dates, etc.

While Sawyer doesn’t get angry often, when he does snap it is absolutely terrifying. He’s not afraid to use his fists if necessary, and his passionate and stubborn nature makes him someone you don’t want to get in a fight with.

Even though he's not a Slytherin, Sawyer does have some ambition that comes along with his ESTJ personality. He's a Ravenclaw prefect and the Keeper on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.

Sawyer is a massive history nerd and finds past cultures, traditions, and stories absolutely fascinating. Later in life he becomes Head Curator for the Ministry of Magic.

Sawyer's black cat, Beater, was named for her tendency to bat at his hands when she was a kitten.

His boggart takes the form of a stake surrounded by a massive bonfire. It takes the shape it does because of his extensive history research, in particular that of past innocent witches and wizards being burned at the stake. Sawyer isn’t one to be spooked by his imagination or fictional stories – he’s of the mind that the real world is much more terrifying. He defeats his boggart by imagining the roaring flames turning into piles of fluffy feathers.

Sawyer adores the works of Charles Dickens (hence Charles being the name of the family owl). He was first exposed to the author’s work at the age of seven on a trip to the London library, and ever since he’s been one of Dickens’ biggest fans. His favorites include Oliver Twist, A Tale of Two Cities, and The Pickwick Papers.
