Adelaide Oakes's profile

Adelaide lost her parents early on, with her mother dying during childbirth and her father dying when she was five. Her uncle, Rowland, then took her in and did what he could to provide for her. Rowland made a living as a metal trader and Adelaide enjoyed helping him, having a knack for checking over his business details and correspondence.

Adelaide started to attend Hogwarts and was sorted into Hufflepuff, but with school equipment not being cheap, her uncle traveled a lot to pay for his niece's expenses. During one such year, Adelaide became worried as she hadn't heard from her uncle in awhile and knew he was trying to make a risky business contact with some of Ranrok's loyalists in the area.

Adelaide is a very shy girl and is quite lousy when she is around new people. She will eventually warm up if she don’t find them scary or mean. She expresses her thoughts very often, which can make her look ridiculous. She has a certain humility and says she's nervous around celebrities; if she could, she'd avoid meeting any of them.

She is a member of the Frog Choir of Hogwarts and is quite a talented singer. She loves to hum little tunes to herself when she's working on her homework or studying.

The girl is known for her tendency to say things that can easily be misunderstood or considered romantic. She loves a good hot bath, love-filled cooking and gifts to herself. Adelaide enjoys providing meals for her friends and knowing that they like what she prepares. She also enjoys receiving gifts, but prefers to give them.

She stocks the secret snack room in the Hufflepuff common room and is very kind to the House Elves especially to Feenky in the Kitchens. Adelaide carry's treats in her robes for the many cats that roam the halls and grounds of Hogwarts.
